Rock Climbing in Mount Washington Valley
 |
|
Cathedral Ledge
This beautiful wall of granite is deservedly one of our most popular climbing areas. The cliff is about 500 feet high, and offers classic multi-pitch routes such as Thin Air (5.6), Funhouse (5.7), and Recompense (5.9). The top offers spectacular views of Mount Washington Valley.
Whitehorse Ledge
Considered to be some of the best slab climbing in the east, these dramatic and improbable sheets of white granite offer such classic routes as Standard Route (5.6), Sliding Board (5.7), and Wavelength (5.8). This is a great place to hone your footwork!
Cannon Cliff
This thousand foot wall of granite in Franconia Notch is rich in both climbing history and long, excellent alpine adventure climbs. The Whitney-Gilman Route (II 5.7), first climbed in 1929 by 2 cousins from Connecticut after a season in the Alps, remains a North American classic to this date. |
