This is a required course for those interested in becoming involved in search and rescue or working for various outdoor recreation agencies. Topics include preparedness, clothing and equipment, survival skills, navigation, search procedures, containment and attraction, clue detection, knots, litter handling and basic rescue. This is sanctioned by Maine Search and Rescue and the National Association of Search and Rescue with optional certification available. This is an excellent training for outdoor leaders as well as rangers, wardens, firefighters and others involved in outdoor or emergency service based careers.
